Rookie Of The Year:
In 2008 the Rookie of the Year battle will really heat up.
The Rookie of the Year rules are as follows:
1. To be eligable for the 2007 Cool Pool Racing Truck Series Rookie of the Year award, a player can not have started in anymore than 10 races in any of the three (3) Cool Pool Racing Series.
2. The highest finishing rookie will receive ten (10) points, while the second highest will receive nine (9) points. This will continue down through the 10th rookie, who will receive one (1) point.
3. If a rookie contender wins the race, that player will receive a three (3) point bonus, giving him/her a total of 13 points for the race.
4. If a rookie contender wins the pole, that player will receive a two (2) point bonus on their race total.
5. If a rookie contender sits on the outside pole (second position), that player will receive a one (1) point bonus on their race total.
6. The highest amount of points in a race any rookie contender can get is 15 points.
7. Each players best 19 finishes in the Truck Series will count in the final Rookie of the Year standings. Each player's six (6) lowest scoring races (roughly 25%) will be dropped to allow some margin of error for "rookie" mistakes.

Race Entry List:
For each race, Cool Pool Racing players will submit picks. There will be a link on the top of every week's 'groups' page with the race's entry list.

Weekly Groups:
At the first race only, you will pick 5 drivers. You will designate one of those drivers as your "
Season Driver", or the driver you will use all season at every race. The other four drivers will change every race.

There will be 4 groups of 5 drivers covering the top 20 in the Craftsman Truck Series Points. Groups will change weekly, and each player should make sure they do not pick their season driver as a weekly driver.

To go to the groups page and submit picks, click
HERE.

Season Driver:
A Season Driver is a driver that you choose at the beginning of the season to be one of your drivers every race. You will be allowed to change your "Season Driver"
once per season. Your driver does not have to be injured to change. You can change once at any point in the season, for any reason. Beginning in 2008, you can only change your season driver during 4 select races. You may change before race 5, 10, 15 and 20 only. If you submit a season driver change, it will not take effect until the next race where a season driver change is warranted.

If a player forgets about their season driver and chooses him as a weekly driver, they will receive zero (0) points for that driver for the week. The Managers will not remind you who your season driver is, check the site [
Season Drivers].

Picks Deadline:
Each week picks are due, there is a Thursday night (11:59pm EST) deadline {
Unless noted otherwise}. You may change any of your drivers up until the deadline. Once the picks deadline has passed, you may not change your picks under any circumstances.

Late Picks:
Any player who fails to submit picks by the stated deadline, will have their highest finishing driver's score dropped.

Any player who doesn't submit picks before midnight EST on the day of the race, will not be allowed to submit a set of picks and will use their picks for the most recent race, and will received half of the race points. After two consecutive missed picks, a player will no longer be scored.

Community Forum:
The Cool Pool has a message forum for all of the players in all of the pools. It is recommended that each player in each of the pools gets an account on the forum, as the administrators for the pools will be in contact with everyone on the forum. To go to the forum and make an account, or to just read around, click

Picks Deadline:

Each week picks are due, there is a Thursday night (11:59pm EST) deadline {Unless noted otherwise}. You may change any of your drivers up until the deadline. Once qualifying has begun, you may not change your picks under any circumstances.

Any player who fails to submit picks by the stated deadline, will have their highest finishing driver's score dropped.

Any player who doesn't submit picks before midnight EST on the day of the race, will not be allowed to submit a set of picks and will use their picks for the most recent race, but will drop their Season driver, and their highest finishing regular driver.

Scoring:
Determining a Winner: Each player will have 5 drivers per race. The way we get a total for a winner is by adding your 5 drivers total points up, and that number will be your total "race points" for the race.

Determining a Pole Winner: Qualifying uses all 5 of your drivers. All 5 starting positions added up is your qualifying total. The lowest total is better, and will be named pole winner for that race. The pole winner will receive an extra 20 points on their race total, and the outside pole sitter will receive an extra 10 points on their race total.
*If qualifying is rained out, the season points will determine the lineup. The pole winner will NOT receive 20 bonus points, and 2nd position will NOT receive 10 extra points.

Determining a Season Champion: All 25 races added up will be the season standings. The player with the highest total points at the end of 25 races will be the 2008 Cool Pool Racing Craftsman Truck Series Champion!

Tie Breaking:
In a Race & Qualifying: If there is a tie in a race, the players "season driver" will determine the tie. The player whose season driver finished or qualified highest will win the tie. If the drivers who tied have the same season driver, the player highest in points entering the race will win the tie.

In the points: If there is a tie in the point standings, the player with the most wins will win the tie. If the two players are tied with wins, it will go to top 5's, top 10's and if all else fails, whoever was highest in points the previous race.

Race Errors/Changes:
There will be a one week window where points can change after a race. If you add up your points and find an error, let Greg or Will know within
7 days after the checkered flag and action will be taken to fix that error. After 7 days, the results are frozen and can no longer be changed.

Rules Changes:

The Owner has the right to change or amend any rule during the season. Most likely any change that occurs will happen before a race and will not affect the outcome of the previous one. Any rule change will be posted on the site and/or e-mailed to all members.
