Payment:
For the Season Fund, $20 is due by February 18th, 2007. When you are in the season fund, you will be racing to beat all of the other drivers who are in the season fund pool. The highest finishing player who is in the season fund pool will receive 70% of the pot. 20% will go to 2nd, with 10% helping pool cost.

Each segment in the Cool Pool Racing Sprint Cup Series costs $10 per player, and all segment money MUST be received before the first race of each segment. 75% of the pot will go to the champion, with 25% going to 2nd.

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS unless a money segment does not take place. However, if you leave the league or are kicked out, you will not receive a refund of your money.

Schedule:
Be sure to check out the schedule page for 2007. Note: All race names may not be correct. I took the schedule posted on NASCAR.com before the season started and some race sponsors and names have changed. Click

Rookie Of The Year:
In 2007 the Rookie of the Year battle will really heat up.
The rules are simple:
1. To be eligable for the 2008 Cool Pool Racing Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year award, a player can not have started in anymore than 10 races in the Cool Pool Racing Sprint Cup Series, in any seasons combined (*Waived for Willett and Jackson in 2008).
2. The highest finishing rookie will receive ten (10) points, while the second highest will receive nine (9) points. This will continue down through the 10th rookie, who will receive one (1) point.
3. If a rookie contender wins the race, that player will receive a three (3) point bonus, giving him/her a total of 13 points for the race.
4. If a rookie contender wins the pole, that player will receive a two (2) point bonus on their race total.
5. If a rookie contender sits on the outside pole (second position), that player will receive a one (1) point bonus on their race total.
6. The highest amount of points in a race any rookie contender can get is 15 points.
7. Each players best 27 finishes in the Sprint Cup Series will count in the final Rookie of the Year standings. Each player's nine (9) lowest scoring races (roughly 25%) will be dropped to allow some margin of error for "rookie" mistakes.

Race Entry List:
Every week, Cool Pool Racing players submit picks. There will be a link on the top of every week's 'groups' page with the race's entry list.

Weekly Groups:
In 2008, players will submit picks for every race. The groups are set up by driver points. There are 6 groups of 5 drivers, which make up the top 30 in owners points. Every player also has the option of choosing "Other" for group #6, and choosing a driver not in the top 30 in points. Be sure to enter your name, email address and race winner before entering your picks. To see the groups, click
HERE.

Community Forum:
The Cool Pool has a message forum for all of the players in all of the pools. It is recommended that each player in each of the pools gets an account on the forum, as the administrators for the pools will be in contact with everyone on the forum. To go to the forum and make an account, or to just read around, click

Picks Deadline:

Each week picks are due, there is a Thursday night deadline {Unless noted otherwise}. You may change any of your drivers up until the deadline. Once qualifying has begun, you may not change your picks under any circumstances.

No late picks will be accepted. Any player who fails to meet the stated deadline will use their previous race's picks and get half of the race points. After three missed races during the season, the player will be replaced.

Scoring:
Determining a Winner: Each player will choose 6 drivers per race. We will drop each player's worst driver for that race. Your 5 diver's points added up will be your "Race Points". The player with the highest amount of race points is that week's winner.

Determining a Pole Winner: Qualifying uses all 6 of your drivers. All 6 starting positions added up is your qualifying total. The lowest total is better, and will be awarded the pole for that race. The pole winner will receive an extra 20 points on their race total, and the outside pole sitter will receive an extra 10 points on their race total.
*If qualifying is rained out, the segment points will determine the lineup. The pole winner will NOT receive 20 bonus points, and 2nd position will NOT receive 10 extra points.

Determining a Segment Champion: In 2008 there will be two 13 race segments, and then one 10 race segment. Each segment will be decided by each players total points in the races for the segment.

Determining a Season Champion: All 36 races in the Cool Pool Racing Sprint Cup Series added up will create the point standings. The player who earns the most points during those 36 races will be crowned the Cool Pool Racing Sprint Cup Series Champion.

Tie Breaking:
In a Race & Qualifying: If there is a tie in a race, the player's choice of a race winner will be their tie breaker. Whoever's driver finishes ahead of the others, wins that tie. If the drivers who tied have the same race winner, the player highest in points entering the race wins the tie.

In the points: If there is a tie in the point standings, the player with the most wins will win the tie. If the two players are tied with wins, it will go top 5's, top 10's and if all else fails, whoever was highest in points the previous race.

Race Errors/Changes:
There will be a one week window where points can change after a race. If you add up your points and find an error, let Greg or Will know within 7 days and action will be taken to fix that error. After 7 days, the results are frozen and can no longer be changed.

Rules Changes:

The Owner has the right to change or amend any rule during the season. Most likely any change that occurs will happen before a race and will not affect the outcome of the previous one. Any rule change will be posted on the site and/or e-mailed to all members.
