| We recommend visiting the site at least once a week to see where you placed the previous week, where you are in the standings, and to submit your picks for the next week. You should also visit it to read up on any of the latest news or rule changes:
Sign Up: To sign up for the Cool Pool Racing Indy Racing League, please visit the Sign Up page and fill out the required fields. You will then get a response and be put either on the players list or the waiting list. Schedule: Be sure to check out the schedule page for 2008. Note: All race names may not be correct. I took the schedule posted on IndyCar.com before the season started and some race sponsors and names have changed. Click HERE to see the 2008 Cool Pool Indy Racing League Schedule. Results: All Cool Pool Indy Racing League Results are saved on the site. To view the results pages, Click HERE. Race Entry List: For each race, Cool Pool Racing players will submit picks. There will be a link on the top of every week's 'groups' page with the race's entry list. Weekly Groups: Groups will be updated by Monday each week there is a race. Make sure that on the top of the groups page you see this week's race name and logo. If you do not, hit refresh until you do. Each player will select one (1) driver from each of four (4) groups. To go to the groups page and send picks, click HERE. Community Forum: The Cool Pool has a message forum for all of the players in all of the pools. It is recommended that each player in each of the pools gets an account on the forum, as the administrators for the pools will be in contact with everyone on the forum. To go to the forum and make an account, or to just read around, click HERE. Picks Deadline: Each week there will be a clearly stated deadline for players to meet. If you do not meet the deadline, your picks will be considered late. You may change any of your drivers up until the deadline. Once the deadline has passed, you may not change your picks under any circumstances. Any player who fails to submit picks by the stated deadline, will have their highest finishing driver's score dropped. Any player who doesn't submit picks before 11:59pm on the night before the race will not be allowed to submit a set of picks and will use their picks for the most recent race, and will receive half (1/2) of the race points for that week. Scoring: Determining a Pole Winner All 4 of each player's drivers total starting positions will be their qualifying score. Each player will be ranked by their qualifying score to determine a lineup. A pole win will result in a 2 point bonus in the standings, and an outside pole will be a 1 point bonus (these bonus points go towards the standings, not race results like in the NASCAR pool). Determining a Race Winner All 4 of each player's total drivers points added up is each player's race points score. This is being run just like the NASCAR series here at TheCoolPool.com. Each players race score will then be translated into the following points sytem: 1st: 50 Points 2nd: 40 Points 3rd: 35 Points 4th: 32 Points 5th: 30 Points 6th: 28 Points 7th: 26 Points 8th: 24 Points 9th: 22 Points 10th: 20 Points 11th: 19 Points 12th: 18 Points 13th: 17 Points 14th: 16 Points 15th: 15 Points 16th: 14 Points 17th: 13 Points 18th: 12 Points 19th: 11 Points 20th: 10 Points 21st: 9 Points 22nd: 8 Points 23rd: 7 Points 24th: 6 Points 25th: 5 Points 26th: 4 Points 27th: 3 Points 28th: 2 Points 29th and below receive 1 point Bonus Points: (Added towards Standings, not race results) Pole: 2 Points Outside Pole: 1 Point Tie Breaker Win: 1 Point Tie Breaking In a Race & Qualifying: Whoever's choice of a tie breaker finishes ahead of the others, wins that tie. If the drivers who tied have the same race winner, the player highest in points entering the race will win the tie. Race Errors/Changes: There will be a one week window where points can change after a race. If you add up your points and find an error, let Greg or Will know within 7 days after the checkered flag and action will be taken to fix that error. After 7 days, the results are frozen and can no longer be changed. Rules Changes: The Owner has the right to change or amend any rule during the season. Any change that occurs will happen before a race and will not affect the outcome of the previous one. Any rule change will be posted on the site and/or e-mailed to all members. TheCoolPool.com deserves the right to remove any player for any reason, with no warning. There will be a Council meeting if there is a need to remove any player from the league. |
