| The Baseball Cool Pool has taken on many different looks since it started in 2004. For the first two years it was a simple Yahoo Fantasy Baseball pool. Records weren't kept for those years except that Mark Douglas (2004) and Kyle Moellering (2005) were the overall champions of the league. 2006 In 2006, the Baseball Cool Pool made it's official start at TheCoolPool.com. The format was that each player would choose 1 team per month and receive their wins and losses for that entire month. There was no playoffs in 2006, and the 2006 Baseball Cool Pool champion was decided based on the total wins and losses for the 2006 MLB season. The 2006 champion was Daniel Schmittou. There was a mid-season "minor leagues" Baseball pool, which had the same format of the regular Baseball Cool Pool. Since there were so many players who wanted to get into the Baseball Cool Pool but missed the initial sign ups in April, a new minor league was formed. Kirk Perham won the half season minor league pool. View the 2006 Baseball Cool Pool final standings here: Baseball Cool Pool Final 2006 Standings 2007 The 2007 season had 34 players, and for the first time conferences and divisions. Because of the large turnout, conferences and divisions, there was a new playoff format introduced. The three division champions from each conference (Left Field and Right Field) along with the player with the highest winning percentage in each conference that wasn't already a division champion (wild card) would compete in the first Baseball Cool Pool playoffs. Daniel Schmittou, Andrew Riney, David Guy, Stephen DiCaprio, Stephen Miller and Greg Miller were the six division champions. Scott Polohonki and Louie Gallardo entered the playoffs as wild card teams. In the end, Scott Polohonki won the Cool Pool World Series and became the first player to win the Baseball Cool Pool championship under the playoff format. The final 2007 season standings, and playoff bracket can be seen below. The playoffs were formatted the same as 2007 with four from each conference. Unfortunately during site maintenance, the final 2008 Baseball Cool Pool standings seem to have been misplaced, however the playoff bracket is posted below. Jennifer Carr, Kevin Sullivan, Thomas Brownie, Corey Sprague, Todd Bevering and Roy Andrews all won their divisions. David Guy and Stephen DiCaprio won their respected wild card slots. Thomas Brownie had a dominant world series and was able to beat Todd Bevering for the championship. Baseball Cool Pool 2008 Wild Card Standings Baseball Cool Pool 2008 Playoff Bracket 2009 The 2009 season saw a drop in players, as we weeded out the players from 2008 who had a hard time submitting picks on time. There were 24 players in the 2009 pool, four in each of the six divisions. This season marked the first time that players would choose teams twice per month. Also new in 2009 was a bonus point system where each player would pick a real MLB player. If the MLB player they chose performed well, bonus wins were given to each cool pool player. The playoffs once again saw four players from each conference. Julie Taylor, Kevin Sullivan, Stephen Miller, Greg Miller, Lou Demian and Todd Bevering won their divisions. It was the second division win in a row for Sullivan and Bevering. Greg and Stephen Miller both won their second division titles within the past three seasons. David Guy and Roy Andrews, divisions winners from 2008, were the wild card winners in 2009. Kevin Sullivan won the 2009 Baseball Cool Pool world series, his second Cool Pool championship, and first since his 2005 Sprint Cup Series championship.
